This bibliography is a list of published memoirs compiled by me in the course of my dissertation ‘Bewegte Grenze - begrenzte Bewegung? The infrastructure of the inner-German border, 1945-1990'. All those memoirs thematise the rural inner-German border. I relied on those memoirs because they could be expected to provide a more comprehensive examination of the topic of the inner-German border and present various facets of the experience of the material division. The list does not claim to be exhaustive: reports of this kind are often self-published and have very small print runs. At the same time, new reports are frequently appearing around the anniversaries of German division and reunification. Novels were also only occasionally included. The list could be expanded in this respect and also about graphic novels, which are becoming increasingly popular for depictions of contemporary history. The same applies to blog posts or memoirs in local, regional and national newspapers - both online and in print. For this work, however, I relied exclusively on published memoirs (in addition to archival sources). The bibliography is available in ris, bib and pdf/a formats.

Bei der Übersicht handelt es sich um eine von mir im Zuge meiner Dissertation „Bewegte Grenze – begrenzte Bewegung? Die Infrastruktur der innerdeutschen Grenze, 1945-1990“ zusammengestellte Literaturliste publizierter Erinnerungsberichte und -sammlungen, die sich mit der innerdeutschen Grenze auseinandersetzen. Die Liste erhebt dabei keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit: Berichte dieser Art werden häufig im Selbstverlag und sehr geringer Auflage publiziert. Gleichzeitig erscheinen – gehäuft um Jahrestage der Deutschen Teilung und Wiedervereinigung herum – laufend neue Berichte. Auch Romane wurden nur vereinzelt mit aufgenommen. Die Liste ließe sich dahingehend und auch im Hinblick auf die für zeitgeschichtliche Darstellungen immer populärer werdenden Grafic Novels noch im großen Umfang ergänzen. Dasselbe gilt für Blogbeiträge oder Erinnerungen in lokal, regional und überregionalen Zeitungen – Online wie auch Print. Für die Arbeit wurde (neben Archivquellen) allerdings ausschließlich auf eigenständig publizierte Erinnerungsberichte und Erinnerungssammlungen zurückgegriffen. Ersteres, weil sie eine umfassendere Auseinandersetzung mit der Thematik der innerdeutschen Grenze erwarten ließen, letzteres weil sie in ihren Einzelbeiträgen verschiedene Facetten der Teilungserfahrung gebündelt darstellen.
